Peppercorn is a specialised kitchen shop providing the very best of local and imported products to discerning clients in the Eastern Suburbs of Auckland.

Quality brands such as WMF, Scanpan, Apilco and Le Crueset adorn the shelves along with many other well-known household brands.

We also stock the ever popular Botanic Garden and Pomona range of Portmerion dinner and cookware.

The shop has been located in Remuera, One of Auckland’s most sought-after suburbs, with a rich architectural and historical heritage. The business originally commenced in the current location in 1973. Before its conversion into a shop, it was a passage joining the present Remuera road and the Gas station behind the building. Mr Coal, the owner of the building decided to convert it into a shop. Upon completion, the very first business was that of a chocolate shop started by a Dutch family. In 1973, Mr Michele Horwood who had a basic grocery shop across the road decided to start a boutique kitchenware shop at this location. Michele, a very keen skier, had seen a lovely shop named Peppercorn located at the foothills of the Alps in Austria during one of his ski trips. He decided to have that name and concept.

Over the years, there have been many changes, new products and brands have been added, but the basic concept to stock the very best of each in terms of value and quality has been kept as it is. It is not very uncommon to get compliments from browsers and customers about its “not so commercial” and “unique look” .
